AUSTIN, TX–March 14, 2011–Drummond Group Inc., the trusted interoperability test lab, today announced the completion of its AS3-1Q11 automated interoperability testing. Six products from Axway, Cleo Communications, GXS, IBM and Sterling Commerce, an IBM company, completed the AS3 testing and are now Drummond Certified(TM). By certifying interoperability amongst a group of commercial software products, the Drummond Certified program promotes the adoption of standards-based software for use in supply chains worldwide.
AS3 is the IETF messaging specification standard (RFC 4823) that allows vendor applications to communicate any data, including EDI over the Internet, using File Transfer Protocol (FTP) which provides digital security and receipt validation.
“The importance of interoperability and related testing reinforces an organization’s foundation to connect and communicate successfully with its customers on a global level,” said Rik Drummond, CEO of Drummond Group. “We commend these innovative companies for their continued commitment and adoption of the AS3 standard as they roll out the latest software products and versions into production to further strengthen trading partner relationships.”
Drummond Group’s testing automation tool, InSitu®, was utilized during this AS3 interoperability test round. This technology allows the tester to automate the execution and evaluation of the test cases used for interoperability testing, including sending and receiving AS3 messaging. InSitu’s technology provides testers with more time to focus on solving any interoperability issues instead of spending time in sending all the messages exchanged in the interoperability testing.
