LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – February 1, 2005 – eBusinessReady®, an industry-neutral software certification program under joint partnership of the Uniform Code Council, Inc.® (UCC®) and Drummond Group Inc. (DGI), today announced that 12 software products from 11 leading companies successfully passed the first interoperability testing for AS3 (Applicability Statement 3) specifications. By successfully completing this initial AS3 interoperability test round, participants demonstrated a proven means for supply chains to securely interact with their trading partners.

Companies whose products passed the AS3 fourth quarter 2004 interoperability test include: Boomi, Inc., Classified Information, Inc., Cleo Communications, Click Commerce, Inc., Cyclone Commerce, Global eXchange Services, Inc., Inovis, Inc., iSoft Corporation, iWay Software, Trailblazer Systems Inc., and webMethods, Inc.

An eBusinessReady-certified product enables vertical and horizontal compliance and interoperability across the supply chain and distribution channels. AS3 is a new specification standard that allows applications to communicate Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) or Extensible Markup Language (XML) data via File Transfer Protocol (FTP) over the Internet, enabling users to connect, deliver, and reply to data securely and reliably. AS3 provides security for the transport payload through digital signatures and data encryption, and also ensures reliable delivery through the use of receipts.

“Standards such as AS3, AS2 and AS1 are separated by their underlying transport protocol, but each has its own merits and uses in today’s marketplace,” said Rik Drummond, DGI’s chief executive officer. “AS3 can provide digital security and receipt

validation by utilizing File Transfer Protocol. Adoption of one or more standards by a specific industry depends on utilizing the one that best suits that industry’s customer requirements. AS3 interoperability testing will have a positive impact as it expands the scope of Internet standards available to supply chains in their business-to-business communication.”
