Now health IT software developers have a choice!
Approved by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), Drummond’s G10 FHIR® API+ powered by Touchstone offers an alternative to the Inferno test tool. Touchstone – hosted by AEGIS.net, a Drummond partner – is an approved method for certification to the §170.315(g)(10) Standardized API for patient and population services criteria.
An easy-to-use, repeatable litmus test for health information exchange that decisively measures healthcare system interoperability, Touchstone also provides reporting on those metrics for developers who require clear evaluation of their systems. Touchstone has long been a staple at HL7 Connectathons and AEGIS is well known for its contributions to many of the HL7 workgroups and implementation guides, making them an ideal platform partner for Drummond and our clients.
Initially, customers will onboard to Touchstone and leverage its test- driven development environment to code, test and evaluate progress toward achieving compliance with the §170.315(g)(10) criteria all with access to Drummond’s world-class customer support.
A comparison of the enhanced benefits of this new alternative test method to the Inferno test tool showcases some of the leading reasons developers are choosing this pathway for achieving certification.

Drummond’s investment in Touchstone aligns with our vision to offer additional FHIR–based certification programs to address additional regulatory and sub-regulatory use cases. Currently, our Payer and Patient Access FHIR API certification program powered by Touchstone supports health IT developer efforts to achieve compliance with the CMS Interoperability Final Rules. From ONC SVAP technologies to emerging HL7 FHIR® implementation guide adoption, Touchstone is positioned to grow with health IT software developers’ FHIR development strategy.
